One can’t help but appreciate the elegant looks of the Q5. At the rear end is a new trim element between the light clusters and a new diffuser insert with a horizontal fin. Viewed from the side, the Q5 has greater ground clearance, thanks to the redesigned sill insert. The upper section of the LED headlamps features a new signature for the daytime running lights (DRLs). On the Q5 the latter is shallower and wider than before, while the side air intakes have grown in height and are now structured by trapezoidal insets. Just about every brand offers one, or more, so when it comes to choosing one it pretty much boils down to personal preference and budget. From the Articulation Ramp, to the Brake Test the Q3 proved to be a competent vehicle fit to handle these obstacles.Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) are a dime a dozen in South Africa at the moment. The test courses Audi designed for this experience were phenomenal and truly showcased the multi-sided personality of the Audi Q3. Once again we gave a fair 4/5 rating for passenger space because for a compact SUV there were no problems with headroom or legroom. Cargo space was given an average rating of 3/5 because in reality the Q3 is still a small SUV, only capable of hauling so much. The engine is an Audi standard and although it is not a monstrous V8, the 2.0T is capable enough for comfortable city and highway driving. We gave it a generous 4/5 because in reality, the Q3's main use will be in the city where the toughest obstacle is likely to be a snow mound. ![]() In terms of capability, the Q3 proved to easily maneuver Course 1 without much difficulty. With only an hour or so to discover what the Q3 had to offer, it was tough to come down to a final evaluation, however, the picture to the left indicates our "first-impressions" if you will about the Q3. We assessed the Q3 based on our experience that day. ![]()

The movie is a chronicle of corporate synergy, mashing together the old and new in an attempt to lure DC fans from across generations, with the assumption that meaning will emerge from mere recognition. It’s for the DC stalwarts who’ll get all the meta nods and in-jokes. But so much of the substance of The Flash isn’t for Barry. In pivoting from time-travel caper into multiversal doomsday epic, Muschietti treats Barry’s emotional arc of acceptance less as the heart of The Flash, and more like its bookends, an experience Barry grows from in the hopes that the audience will also find it worthwhile. (There’s still a second Aquaman movie and Blue Beetle on the way before Gunn’s universe, labeled the DCU, kicks off.) Like Barry, the filmmakers run too far, too fast, and too wild, until their film nearly spirals out of their control in a confused tangle of meta-commentary and eulogy, contemplating the history of DC movie adaptations as well as the Snyderverse that began it, and that’s coming to a close shortly. There is the blatant nostalgia play in making Keaton’s Bruce Wayne/Batman the film’s biggest supporting character - a role Keaton, to his credit, does not phone in. This is where The Flash stops being a movie and instead becomes several other things, some of them outright cynical. Barry is forced to recreate his superhero origin with his younger self, and to team up with the only known superhero in this timeline: Batman, but the one played by Michael Keaton in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman and its sequel. Most of the film takes place in a new timeline Barry creates, where the decision to save his mother ripples outward to create a version of the DC movie universe with no metahumans, on the brink of its foundational disaster: General Zod (Michael Shannon) arriving as he did in 2013’s Man of Steel, but this time, with no one to stop him. In spite of this angst-fueled premise, director Andy Muschietti ( It and It: Chapter Two ) smartly infuses the film with a Looney Tunes sensibility, reintroducing Barry with one of the goofiest opening sequences in a superhero film to date, and using the time-travel premise to make The Flash a buddy comedy, pairing Barry with a younger, more obnoxious version of himself from the past. ![]() In a moment of anguish, Barry discovers that if he runs fast enough, he can surpass the speed of light and travel through time, observing history in a ring of space-time he calls “the chronobowl.” Ignoring a warning from Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) about the perils of altering history, Barry decides to time travel to prevent his mother’s murder and his father’s imprisonment. The plot kicks into gear when Barry learns that the last big potential break in his dad’s case will not exonerate him. The opening briefly reestablishes Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) as a part-time Justice League member and full-time forensics lab analyst on a personal journey to clear the name of his father, Henry (Ron Livingston), who’s been convicted of murdering Barry’s mother, Nora (Maribel Verdú). While it lacks the clarity or resonance of, say, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Christina Hodson’s script keeps the story squarely focused on its protagonist’s emotional journey and treats the finer points of its metaphysical world-building as flavor, an excuse to do some extremely comic book things. This is even more astonishing given that it has one of the most convoluted plots in a recent stretch of superhero films that are absolutely lousy with multiversal exposition. To its credit, the movie’s two-and-a-half-hour run time moves at an impressive clip. Given all this, the worst thing a movie called The Flash could do is feel slow. The result is messy and strange: It’s a bright, breezy film that is overwhelmed by corporate hagiography, a pat on the back for a bunch of movies that never really worked out. In 2023, The Flash now serves as one of the final films in the Snyderverse, a eulogy for the Zack Snyder era of DC - but also, surprisingly, for all DC’s page-to-screen adaptations. Originally planned for a 2016 release, according to a 2013 DC movie plan that ultimately proved too ambitious, The Flash arrives a full decade later from a chastened DC that’s getting ready to restart its cinematic universe with James Gunn in charge. For a movie about a guy who can move incomprehensibly fast, The Flash sure did arrive late. ![]() ![]() ![]() That is to say, the decorations did not always appear on the same style pieces across them all. Often a source of confusion, there doesn't seem to be a clear pattern to how pattern collections were composed. There are also several individual items regularly seen tagged as Non-Standard in patterns available exclusively through stamp redemption catalogs. Other examples include Butterprint sets decorated in all orange (440 set), pink (470 set), or turquoise (400, 440, 470 sets) with plain opal bases. Few in number, they include select Standard bowl and casserole sets sold through regular channels as well as variants of some standard patterns.Īlternate versions of Verde and Town & Country were produced contemporaneously to their Standard counterparts and marketed solely through trading stamp redemption programs. Stamp Program patterns are in some ways a sub-category of Standard. Two that come to mind are a Horizon Blue 474 Cinderella round casserole with a patterned lid and serving basket, and an Early American Cinderella round casserole with gold leaf decoration on the lid. Some Specials blurred the line between Special and Non-Standard. Daisy oval casseroles with serving baskets and an Early American casserole with mounter cradle are but two examples. Specials were marketed similarly to Non-Standard, but differ in that they were merely accessorized Standard pattern pieces offered for a limited time. They far outnumber the standard and limited patterns, and tend to be among the more coveted as Pyrex ware collectibles. Non-Standard patterns, more often referred to as promotional pieces or "promos", were produced on usually only a single piece with an accessory, and typically offered as part of a grouping of several seasonal items in a single year. To keep it simple, these Limited patterns are typically seen categorized with Standard patterns, although various sources contradict each other (and sometimes themselves) as to where they belong. ![]() the autumn-hued Americana bowls added to Early American, or the Multitone Blue bowls, turquoise Snowflake casseroles, and turquoise Butterprint combined to create the eponymous "Turquoise" collection. Some Limited patterns came to be later marketed as part of Standard pattern collections, e.g. The Golden Honeysuckle oblong casseroles and the short-lived Hearth Group collection would also fall into this category. Examples would include Golden Acorn casseroles the Multicolor, Rainbow Stripe, Dots, and Americana bowls. The decorative design or color scheme appeared for a year or more, but only on a specific set of bowls or on a selection of pieces far fewer than those of a more complete Standard pattern collection. Limited patterns fall between Standard and Non-Standard patterns. These include Butterfly Gold '72, Spring Blossom Green '72, and Snowflake Blue. The standard patterns known as "Pyrex Ware Compatibles", whose decorations are complementary to certain Corelle patterns, include the widest range of models of dishes. Some earlier patterns, as well as some marketed during the waning years of decorated opalware production, included less than a full range of shapes, but are nonetheless considered Standard. Standard patterns are those whose collections were typically comprised of a full range of dishes and bowls, and which were offered for two or more years. It can sometimes be confusing as to which category a particular pattern belongs. However, Pyrex patterns can actually be divided further into five general categories: Standard, Limited, Non-Standard (aka promotional), Specials and Stamp Program. Perhaps the term came to be used for Pyrex ware much in the same way it is for china or flatware.įor most collectors, patterns fall into one of two categories: Standard or Non-Standard, the latter being defined as those individual promotional items released only once and for a limited time, with everything else being considered Standard. But, in a larger sense, "pattern" refers to a designed, coordinated set- some pieces having decorative designs on them and some not- offered together as a named collection. It is often used to refer to the silk-screened decoration itself. It is important to note that, in Pyrex Ware terms, the term "pattern" has dual meaning. Decorated Pyrex pieces, especially those found in excellent condition, can be among the most valuable as collectibles. Ranging from simple starbursts to intricate florals to complex geometricals, decorative graphics were applied in contrasting and complementary colors and also in gold leaf. Beyond the spectrum of early solid-colored Pyrex kitchenware were literally dozens of collections with a variety of silk screen-applied decoration. ![]() ![]() ![]() This plugin facilitates dealing with non-planar surfaces. ![]() All you need to do is the model of the first two steps.
